Steven Powell

UK Representative

Dr Powell is CEO of Plethora Solutions Holdings, a biotech company listed on AIM (London).

He joined Gilde in 2003 following the acquisition by Xenova Group of KS Biomedix, a UK quoted biotech company of which he had been CEO since 1999.

Previously, he served in a variety of technical and commercial management roles with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies such as Whatman, Radiometer, Chiroscience and Active Biotech.

He first entered the industry in 1985 as a development scientist with Beecham Pharmaceuticals (now Glaxo SmithKline).

Dr Powell graduated in Microbiology from the University of Wales and was awarded a PhD from the University of Aberdeen.

He is a UK national.

Dr Powell led the investment in Chroma Therapeutics. He was board member of Inpharmatica (until its trade sale to Galapagos) and currently is member of the board of Acacia Pharma and Chroma Therapeutics.
